What do you need to know?
The apartments are run by our family. We like to offer a personalized service and make people feel as if they were at home. We spend the weekends in the attic of the building. Each apartment is completely independent and we only share the staircase.
Our professional cleaning service included in the price leaves the apartment as new, before and after your stay.
Check-in is at 4:00 pm, and check-out at 12:00, but we always try to adapt to the arrival time of the guest.

Why the "Walter Benjamin Apartment"?
The town of Portbou is marked by the figure of the Jewish-German philosopher. On the night of September 25, 1940 Walter Benjamin arrived at Portbou, already recognized as one of the most brilliant thinkers of the 20th century. He was escaping from the German army. He came to stay in this same building, Hostal el Comerç, but there were no free rooms here. What happened then, is part of the story of Walter Benjamin and the history of the village, and we invite you to discover it during your stay here, starting with the visit to the Walter Benjamin memorial.
